Charlottetown
Today was another lovely day so we went in and toured Charlettetown. We parked at the Visitor’s Centre, then walked the older part of town. We just missed a tour of Confederation Hall and a lunch time concert, darn. We ended up at the wharf by the Visitor’s Centre and I had a COWS ice cream cup, Kel was right, it is really good ice cream.
Old Charlettetown
We made a quick stop at Walmart and Sobey’s then came home for a quiet evening. We couldn’t believe all the trailers that had come in while we were gone, it is a very busy place on the weekends!
And so ends another great gift of a day and we look forward to another great day tomorrow.
More Nice Days
Today is our oldest grandson's 24th birthday, happy birthday Kev.
Wow, the weather continues to be wonderful, hopefully it will stay like this for a while yet
Yesterday was a pretty quiet day, I did the laundry and John did the cleaning, I think I got the better deal there! Mid afternoon we went into Charlottetowm, only about a 15 minute drive, as there were a couple of things John wanted at Staples. We stopped at Sobey's and picked up a few groceries, found out Sobey's on the east coast doesn't have Club Sobey's, go figure.
Today we did part of the North Cape Coastal Drive, there were some pretty spots but on the whole it was disappointing as we didn't see a lot of the coast. Actually, the western side of the island was more scenic, but we can now say that we have been to the northern most spot on Prince Edward Island. We stopped for lunch at Northport, the restaurant was right on the water with a nice view. We looked out at Cascumpec Lighthouse that is only accessible by boat, the lighthouse stands 49' high and was moved around the 1900's to its current location across the ice by 16 teams of horses.

We saw the North Cape Lighthouse at the most northerly tip of the island, there is also a wind farm there but, so far, it is nowhere as large as the wind farms in Ontario. We drove through Cavendish on the way home, what a tourist venue, we are really glad we aren't staying there!
North Cape Lighthouse, Windfarm etc.
On the way home we came to a T-intersection and this was the view.
After having a large lunch dinner was a cheese quesidilla, very good and just filled the void.
Now I will see if I can get on the internet with the laptop, I can post my blog on the iPad but can't upload pictures on it, so will have to try to do it with the laptop. The laptop is an Acer, Windows run & I sure DO NOT like using Windows, it is so cludgey compared to the Mac!

PEI Is Where We Are
Today was another gorgeous day, do hope this awesome weather continues. We had a great drive from Woodstock NB to PEI, but the roads on the island leave something to be desired. One of the gals at Can-Am told us about a park here owned by a couple of their customers, Bayside RV Camping at Oyster Bed Bridge, so we decided to try it out. What a lovely park it is, huge sites and everyone is so friendly, we are here for a week. It is right on Rustico Bay although we can't see the bay from our site.

Our Site at Bayside RV Campground
Diesel in New Brunswick was about the same as Quebec - $1.279/liter but it is $1.139 here on the island, do like that!
Tomorrow will be a quiet day, we will do some cleaning, laundry and take it easy then Thursday we will start exploring the island.

A Good Travel Day
Today was an absolutely gorgeous day with a high of 24C - perfect! We had an uneventful drive from Levis, QC to Woodstock NB. The highway from Trois Rivierer to the New Brunswick border was pretty rough but once we got into New Brinswick it was a good divided highway. Surprisingly the traffic was very light, gotta love that!
We are at a park right along the St. John River, very peaceful & a great view. There is wi- fi here but it is in a bird house on top of a hydro/water post four sites over, so with a couple of RV's between us & the post we can't get it. Wonder what idiot did that one!!
View From Our Camp Site
Dinner is almost ready so have to run. Dinner is over so we walked down to site 6 to pick up the Internet.

A Relaxing Day
Today was a nice relaxing day and with a high of 22C and sunny skies, it was my kind of day.
We went out this afternoon to pick up a few groceries then drove around Levis for a bit. We found a nice park along the river with a great view of Quebec City and a couple of other spots with great views. We came home for a while then went to Le Delice for dinner, we have been there before and they have great pizza and we weren't disappointed tonight. We also fuelled up the truck, very painful at $1.279/liter for diesel.

When we got home we went for a walk and John is now hooking up the trailer so he doesn't have to do that in the morning.
