Today was another nice day – sunny and warm. The Yuma Air Show was today and we thought we might see some of it from here but not so, go figure as we see all kinds of planes during the week but today with the air show nary a plane was visible!

John went out this morning to get his hair cut and picked up a couple of groceries so I did some cleaning while he was gone as well as a couple of phone calls. I also sorted through a couple more boxes and got things ready for our trip to Mexico tomorrow – passports are on hand, my camera is charged, the suitcase is packet etc. This afternoon I went for a nice walk then came back and sat outside and read – basically a lazy day.

The book I just finished is a James Patterson and it was quite weird and now I seem to have started another weird one by Carol O’Connell, must be my month for weird books!!

Tomorrow we will be up early to catch the bus so tonight will be an early night – just hope I can sleep! It is the end of another great gift of a day and we look forward to the mystery of tomorrow. I will catch up on my diary when we return from our getaway.

Today was mainly overcast but warm so we are not complaining. I wanted to get my hair cut before our trip to Mexico on Sunday so headed out this afternoon to do that and go to Wal Mart. I was the only one getting my hair cut so it was a quick in and out, gotta like that! On to Wal Mart where I picked up a couple of things I needed but nothing exciting, I did get a cheap bathing suit as I hate paying a lot of money for a bathing suit only to have the chlorine ruin it in no time.

When I got back I gathered up the laundry and headed off to get that chore done, a good move as it was quiet there and I got it done with no problem. By the time I got back it was time to start dinner – John barbecued a couple of burgers - a quick easy meal.

I finished my book while the laundry was doing so tonight will be a bit of TV and then off to bed, and so ends another great gift of a day and we look forward to the mystery of tomorrow.

Last night was a disappointment as the moon was overcast so we couldn’t see the eclipse other than one or two quick glimpses but John couldn’t even get a picture. On the bright side the wind died down just about dinner time so John managed to do the ribs on the barbecue.

Today was a nice day, a bit of cloud off and on this morning but by this afternoon it had cleared off and turned into a gorgeous afternoon, good for golfing. We had a T-time with Janet & Dave for 4 at Ironwood and for a change I had a good game so I was a lot happier at the end of the game than I have been in a while. It is a regular course and is in pretty good shape but the greens are really slow, we are so used to fast greens that it is hard to putt at Ironwood, oh well we just have to remember that next time we go there.

We decided to go to Red Lobster for dinner and had a scrumptious meal, I had their new Asian glazed shrimp and they were really good and the sauce had a good bite to it. Red Lobster just opened a new restaurant here at the end of January so it is the first time we have been there and it has really nice décor.

We stopped at Best Buy on the way home but John couldn’t find what he was looking for so we left without opening our wallets.
Tonight will be a bit of TV or reading then off to bed, and so ends another great gift of a day and we look forward to the mystery of tomorrow.

Today was a return to cooler weather and wind, the sun was out most of the day but then clouded over mid afternoon and with the wind it felt quite cool. I was sitting outside reading and had to retreat inside as it was getting uncomfortable sitting out.

I talked to my mom this afternoon and she is sounding much better and not coughing like she was, so that is good although she says she still doesn’t have any energy. Hopefully that will improve soon.

This morning we got out some boxes from storage and sorted through them and put a few things into them – a little less clutter in the cupboards! I went for a nice walk this afternoon and stopped and bought a couple of tickets for the fashion show and luncheon next Wednesday, Janet is going to come over and go with me and we hope it is as nice as the one we went to last year.

It was a quiet day and we have just revised our plans for dinner as with the wind John figures it will be too hard keeping the barbecue lit so we will have pasta instead, and save the ribs for Friday. We are hoping to be able to see the eclipse of the moon tonight but right now it is pretty cloudy, hopefully it will clear off.

I just got this picture from Dave of Janet & Hey Yu before heading off to the dog show.

Monday -February 18, 2008

Today started out sunny but it slowly got overcast then late this afternoon the sky cleared off and it was sunny again, but with all that it was still a nice warm day so there are no complaints from us.

We didn’t do a lot today, some cleaning, walking, bike rides, truck washing, reading etc., not an exciting day but a nice one!

Last week the park started taking reservations for next year so today I went down to see what we got for next winter and we are happy with where we will be as it is in the no pet area on the other side of the park from where we are now and is towards the back of the park backing onto the storage area. Hopefully we won’t get as much traffic noise as we get in this spot, not that it is bad but it would be nice to have a bit less noise. We booked for three months for next winter, this 5 months is just too long, we are starting to get hitch itch big time!

Tonight is a settle down and read and watch TV evening, and so ends another great gift of a day and we look forward to the mystery of tomorrow.

Today was another beautiful, sunny day. Yesterday we took Dave over the movie Apocalyps Now as he has never seen it and this morning we got an e-mail from him that there were no discs in the box – oops another senior’s moment as John had put the discs in thinner plastic cases for storage and forgot when he took it over to Dave.

John wanted to go to Circuit City so we went down there and I took a tour through Bed Bath & Beyond while he was in CC then we went over to Janet & Dave’s with the movie. Dave wasn’t there so we chatted with Janet for a couple of minutes, Janet had entered Hey Yu in the Dog Show so I wanted to hear how she had done, apparently not well as she wouldn’t wear the little goggles Janet had bought for her – good for Hey Yu.

Coming home from Janet & Dave’s at night we can see lights off to the southwest so today we decided to take a drive and see what we have been looking at so we just started heading in that direction to see where we ended up. At one point we came to an intersection where you could only turn north and we found this tree with the pretty flowers and memorial stone sitting in the middle of nowhere. There was also a nice view of the mountains from there. We ended up in Somerton so that is where the lights are at night that we have been seeing, then from there we took a lot of back roads to come home – everywhere we went it was field, after field of veggies or freshly picked fields waiting to be replanted – this is where most of the winter veggies come from so you can just imagine how many thousands and thousands of acres there are planted with either veggies or orchards of orange, lemon & grapefruit trees.

When we got back I went for a walk and John went for a bike ride and this hot air balloon was just floating over the park – they are so pretty.

Tonight we watched 3:10 From Yuma that John had downloaded from I-Tunes, it was good but lots of violence. It is $3.99 to download a movie and you have 30 days to watch it but once you start to play it you have 24 hours before it self destructs from your computer. We don’t watch a lot of movies so if we want to this is an easy way to rent one.

And so ends another great gift of a day and we look forward to the mystery of tomorrow
