Today was another nice day here on the Oregon Coast – mainly sunny but not quite as warm as yesterday, nonetheless a nice day.

Today we decided to head back to Tillamook to visit the Tillamook Cheese Factory but to get there we decided to take the Three Capes Scenic Loop rather than Hwy. 101. It was another beautiful drive, mainly along the coast, with lots of fantastic views. The road wasn’t the greatest but it was no problem seeing we didn’t have the trailer in tow, but we thought it wasn’t a road we would want to do with the trailer.

We made some stops to enjoy the views and take pictures

and then stopped at Cape Meares and walked out to the lighthouse where we again enjoyed the views and took lots of pictures.

Have I said how much we are enjoying the Oregon coast and its views – it certainly hasn’t disappointed us and we are just loving it here.

We finally got to Tillamook and went to the cheese factory where we had lunch then walked up to the viewing platform to watch the cheese making process. It was very interesting - they produce 163,000 lbs of cheese a day – amazing.

We toured the cheese shop and bought a few packages, looked at the fudge and I found myself able to resist a purchase but when we got to the ice cream I couldn’t resist – I had a dish of chocolate peanut butter ice cream that was to die for!!

We made a stop at Fred Meyers to pick up a couple of things we forgot yesterday and to get fuel then returned home via Hwy. 101. We stopped at a lookout to watch the sunset for a bit and by the time we got home it was dark.

Dinner is over and a quiet evening is in store. I think a cold front is supposed to come in so some cool days are probably coming up. Oh well, as long as it doesn’t snow we won’t complain!

And so ends another great gift of a day here on the Oregon Coast and we look forward to another nice day tomorrow.
