Today was another nice Moab day, not as warm as it has been – about 53F (11C) but it was beautiful in the sun and a nice day to be outdoors.

We started the day with going to Denny’s for breakfast, it was okay but we like Angie’s or Cracker Barrel better, but neither of those were a choice here in Moab! Once we had got our bodies fueled up we were off for another day at Arches. I drove again today so John could get a turn to look at all the sites through the park – he says he is getting spoiled!

Our first stop was Double Arch, it was a good trail to the arch with a round trip of 0.8 miles (1.2km). What a beautiful arch, lots of photos. We were talking to a couple and he was taking pictures with his cell phone (as well as his camera) to use for background on his phone – why didn’t I think of that? I usually don’t take my phone with me when we are hiking like that but hooked it onto my jeans when we got back to the truck so I would have it at the next stop.

Our next stop was to walk the two trails to Sand Dune Arch and Broken Arrow Arch with a round trip of about 1.6 miles (2.5km). Again it was an easy trail, at one point there was a neat narrow passageway on the way to Sand Dune Arch. The trails were pretty sandy so a couple of times it was a bit of a struggle walking uphill in soft sand – good exercise! By the time we got back to the truck I felt like I had picked about a pound of sand in my shoes. I got a couple of good shots of Broken Arch on my cell phone so now have that as wallpaper on my phone, the sun was too much at Sand Dune Arch to get a good pic on my phone. I feel like my hip is getting stronger every day with the hiking – really good.

After that we drove out to the end of the park then headed back with a couple of photo stops on the way. We stopped on the way through Moab and got diesel at $2.77/gal., it should be a lot less but!!!!

When we got back to the park I went in paid until Thursday, as there are still a few more things we want to see here. Also the weather is supposed to take a turn for the worse on Wednesday (cloudy with a chance of rain) so not a good time to be trying to visit Bryce Canyon so hopefully by staying here a bit longer we can hit some good weather next weekend at Bryce.

It looks like a quiet evening is in store, don’t know if there will be anything worth watching on TV but if not I can always pick up a book.

And so ends another great gift of a day and we are looking forward to tomorrow, right now the plans are for another scenic drive so do come back and see what we discover.

I'm really enjoying your Utah adventures. We'd really like to go there but thought it would be too cold in November so glad to see you're doing ok and enjoying it.
